My mother used this iron in the '60's and after trying a bunch of different (and much more expensive) brands, I found this iron at a local store, and bought 2! These are heavy (an advantage when pressing lots of seams) and get very hot (Good for quilting cottons). I do not like auto-off, because I want my iron to stay hot. I have it plugged into an outlet that turns off when I turn off the lights as I leave the room, so this is not a problem. Love it.

The iron is to heavy and I am unable to use it. I am 88 with arthritis and its to heavy to use for me. Its a nice iron. I would of returned it but I threw the box away. Hopefully I can give it to some one who can use it. .

This iron is a joke - D. Ogerly -
I was so in hopes that this iron would heat up and put a good crease in denim. It doesn't work that away becasue that three way cut off keeps shutting the iron dowm and when you do get to iron, pushing the iron back and forth on the cloth water gusges out of the water spout leaving a major wet spot on what ever you are ironing.

Iron works very well. Bought upon favorable review by major consumer research organization. Note to any purchaser: thumbwheel goes up to a setting of "6", so look for that number if you want maximum heat. Don't take this note as anything negative about this product -- nothing is wrong with the thumbwheel operation. Just something to look for when you first use the iron.
